A documentary television channel in the high definition format, RTG HD began broadcasting on August 1, 2013, and at present can be accessed by 10 million subscribers around the world. In 2013, RTG HD was recognized as the Best HD Television Channel at the Golden Ray National Awards. The RTG HD television channel exclusively broadcasts programs that it itself has produced, all of them focusing on the largest country in the world – Russia.
Program themes: nature, the animal world, active recreation, hunting and fishing, cruises and excursions, walks through towns and cities, people, culture, religion, history, ethnography, cooking, science and technology, holiday resorts.
The themes of the programs on RTG HD coincide with those of RTG TV, though the television channels have different film archives and broadcasting schedules.
